Avi Gordon, from Toronto

Background: I grew up in a modern orthodox home and attended a Bnei Akiva high school where I had the privilege to be taught gemorra by a Bircas HaTorah alumni. He introduced me to the Bircas HaTorah methodology. I spent my first year-and-a-half in Israel at Yeshivas Toras Shraga working on medos and learning what it means to be a servant of Hashem. I wanted to take my gemorra learning to the next level and hungered for the Bircas methodology I had experienced in high school.

Goals: Learn to take up a page of gemorra, dissect it, and analyze it from every angle, and to be able do this on my own so I can take this style of learning with me. I find the Bircas methodology is the exact method of learning needed to achieve my goal.

Tzvi Noach Keefe, from Chicago

Background: I grew up in Chicago in an Orthodox community. I attended Brisk Yeshiva High School and attended Ohr Somayach for several years before coming to Bircas HaTorah. During my time at Brisk I was exposed to the Ramchal's book Derech Tivunos, which Rabbi Green relied on in developing the Bircas HaTorah methodology.

Goals: Learn a lot of Torah! On a more serious note, my goal is really simple but quite lofty, I think - to learn and understand gemorra properly by utilizing the Bircas HaTorah methodology.
