On my recent trip to Argentina, I encountered breathtaking natural environments across Patagonia — mountains, forests, lakes, deserts, glaciers — and fascinating creatures like sea lions, southern white whales, snakes, flamingos, penguins, and more.
As we soaked in the beauty, a powerful question came up: If Hashem created such a wondrous, awe-inspiring world, and we know the deep mussar we can draw from nature — why does He command us to live specifically in Eretz Yisrael?
Why a land so small, so politically complex, so seemingly limited in its natural variety — and yet, the place we’re obligated to call home?
This week, I shared some reflections and haskafic thoughts on this question — from the winds of Patagonia to the hills of Yerushalayim.
